Join The Trot Team

The Trot Team is NEW for 2015 and is our team of online super heroes. Trot Team members post messages about the Turkey Trot on Facebook, Twitter and instagram to earn points to win prizes! It is an easy and exciting way to help spread the word and show people how much you love the Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K.

Every couple of weeks you will receive an email with ways to earn points. Points can be earned by posting a picture on instagram with #yturkeytrot or other messages.

2015 Y Turkey Trot Charity 5k Training

Need motivation to train for the 2015 Y Turkey Trot Charity 5k? New to running? Want to meet new people and have fun? If so, you need to check out the Y Turkey Trot Charity 5k Training Program!

This program starts September 21st - 25th and runs ten weeks until the "final" on race day! Groups meet once a week to review training schedules, which are created for each specific fitness level, and to run/walk together. There will also be discussion on methods, hydration and proper footwear.

$30 Member, $45 Youth, $60 Open

Ages: 16+; 8-15 years can participate with an adult actively participating

To register online visit EZ-to-Enroll. In the "Keyword" search box type in "5k" and hit the "Search" button. This will show you all the locations and times the program is offered.

2015 Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K Ambassadors

Energetic? Motivated? Love helping kids and making a difference in your community? Become a Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K Ambassador and spread the excitement about the event in your town!

In September you will receive a special welcome package in the mail, filled with all the information and goodies you need to send you off with smiles and know-how to recruit other runners/walkers and raise funds for children in need of financial assistance. Families are welcome to join in.

All Turkey Trot Ambassadors who meet their fundraising goal will receive a limited edition premium long-sleeved Turkey Trot Ambassador shirt and one-month of a family Y Membership for FREE!

Ambassadors will spread the word through five activities (choose which ones suit you!):

• "speaking" at an event you have contact with about the Turkey Trot
• manning a table for at least one hour in the Family Center Y of your choosing, to help people sign up for Turkey Trot and start their fundraising pages
• walking for an hour or two with our Turkey Trot mascot at a local event
• secure a sponsor for the event
• call registered runners to welcome them to the event

You will also help change a child's life through fundraising. Ambassadors will create a fundraising page online and ask friends and family for donations. Your goal is $250, but we ask that you aim for much more!
