Welcome to the Official Site of The Y in Central Maryland Turkey Trot Charity 5K! We are excited to have you join us for this Thanksgiving morning tradition.

Adults, children and families from across the region come together to not only run (or walk, jog, stroll), but to raise funds so that children living in poverty in Central Maryland have access to Y programs that will forever shape their lives.

Thank you for being part of something good on Thanksgiving Morning!

Turkey Sightings

Meet Trotter!

Hi! I'm Trotter, the official mascot of the Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K. I may only be two years old (born in 2013), but this event I am representing has been in Central Maryland for over 20 years!

I spend my days spreading smiles and news about the Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K in hopes of raising more money than last for the Y's Give Every Child a Chance campaign. This campaign provides financial assistance towards Y programs and services to those who can’t otherwise afford a Y experience. The end result strengthens our whole community.
  • Every child that enters the world more skilled, knowledgeable, confident and self-aware is on their way to becoming another contributing and well-balanced adult member of society.
  • Every adult who feels healthier and more connected to their community, in turn will help others do the same.
  • Every parent who feels the support of their community, most often are gladly and willingly motivated to support their neighbor.
The Y gives back what you give to the Y. It's a virtuous cycle of goodness that reaps exponential rewards today and for generations to come and I could not be happier to be part of this cause and campaign!

Follow me on Facebook and Twitter and post pictures of any sightings with me!

You can spot me this summer at the following events (and some surprise visits not listed):
  • Druid Hill Farmers' Market
  • Frederick Road Friday
  • Towson Farmers' Market
  • Maryland Seafood Festival
  • Catonsville Arts Festival
  • Westminster Fall Fest Parade
  • Bel Air Healthy Harford Day
